Donald Carter
Professor Donald Carter is a member of the Queen's University Faculty of Law. From 1993 to 1998, he served as dean of law at Queen's, and from 1985 to 1990, he was director of the Industrial Relations Centre and the School of Industrial Relations. He has also served as president of the Canadian Industrial Relations Association (1991-1992) and as chair of the Ontario Labour Relations Board (1976-1979).
He is the author of numerous articles and monographs relating to labour law and industrial relations in Canada and has contributed to The International Encyclopedia for Labour Law and Industrial Relations and to the casebook Labour and Employment Law. He is currently an associate editor of Labour Arbitration Cases and active as both an arbitrator and a mediator.
Dr. Carter is an instructor on Queen's IRC's Industrial Relations and Labour Arbitration programs. His current issues paper on the growing influence of human rights requirements in Canadian labour law is available for download from IRC's Knowledge Centre.
