Henry Y. Dinsdale
Henry Dinsdale has been practicing labour law since 1989. He joined Heenan Blaikie in 1991 and has been a partner since 1997.
Henry's experience is both practically and academically based. He has taught labour law at the University of Toronto Law School and Osgoode Hall Law School's Masters of Labour Law program as well as being on faculty at Queen's University's Industrial Relations Centre. He received his Bachelor of Law degree from Queen's University but has since been granted first a Masters of Laws degree and then a Doctoral degree in law, both from Stanford University in California.
Henry's management labour relations and employment law practice is broadly based. He works closely with both federally and provincially regulated employers in both the private and public sectors to provide effective and practical advice ranging from strategic labour relations planning and collective bargaining to contract interpretation and employee terminations. He represents employers as spokesperson in collective bargaining and as counsel in grievance arbitration, labour board matters and a variety of other employment-related administrative proceedings. In this capacity, he regularly appears on behalf of management in a broad range of forums including before grievance and interest arbitrators, the Canada Industrial Relations Board, the Ontario Labour Relations Board as well as workers' compensation and human rights tribunals and various levels of court.
Henry has been recognized by Martindale-Hubbell as counsel with an exemplary reputation and high professional standing.
