Rick Russell

Rick Russell

Rick Russell has a broad range of experience in dispute resolution, having practised as a civil-litigation lawyer, a university ombudsperson, a mediator, an arbitrator, a fact-finder and a trainer. He has mediated approximately 1,000 cases since 1989. These include business and commercial matters, bodily-injury and general-insurance claims, employment, human-rights, insolvency, real estate and land-use matters.

He is active as a trainer, offering public courses in alternative dispute resolution and advanced mediation clinics in association with the Institute for Peace and Conflict Studies at Conrad Grebel College, University of Waterloo. He also instructs in the University of Toronto's certificate program in dispute resolution, teaching a course on conflict in large groups. At Queen's IRC he is a trainer on the Industrial Relations program.

Rick has done pioneering work in the use of the partnering model in the fields of construction, financial services and communication across Canada.
