Roy Heenan
Roy Heenan, born in Mexico City and educated in Montreal, is a senior partner in the law firm Heenan Blaikie, where he specializes in industrial relations and labour law. After completing his legal training at McGill University and the University of Montreal, he was called to the Quebec Bar in 1961. Since then, he has represented management in negotiations before the boards and courts. He pleads extensively before arbitrators across the country, having pleaded in every province in Canada, and he acts as a nominee to arbitration and conciliation boards.
In addition, Roy was adjunct professor of labour law with the McGill University Faculty of Law and Faculty of Management, and he served for several years as a member of the board of trustees of Queen's University. He is the author of a number of published articles on labour law and is a frequent public lecturer in Canada and internationally.
Roy is a trainer on IRC's Industrial Relations program.
