Once I enroll in a program, may I cancel without
penalty?
If you register for a program and subsequently cancel, we do our
best to accommodate you by offering the following choices: you may fill the
space with another colleague from your organization; or you or a colleague
from your organization may transfer to another IRC program of your choice.
There is absolutely no penalty for program transfers or substitutions. If
you choose to cancel and not choose either of these two alternate options,
there is a $500 administrative charge.
If I am working towards
my Queen's Certificate in Organization Development or Industrial Relations, which course
should I take first?
You may take the certificate courses in any order that reflects your learning needs at the time. Having said that, each certificate features a foundational program (Industrial Relations and Organization Development Foundations) that introduces you to what we consider the core competencies of the field. The remaining programs offer a deeper exploration of each area. For this reason, we find that students in the certificate stream benefit most by taking the foundational program first.
How long do I have to complete a Certificate
program?
We attach no timeline for achieving your Certificate. Once you have
earned a credit, you have earned the credit. We do recommend, however, that
participants complete their Certificate within one to six years. Most people
earn their Certificates within three years.
How do I enroll in the Certificate program?
You simply enroll in one of our programs. From that date on, we will
track your participation and enroll you in the proper Certificate program.
What if I want to take one of your programs
but do not want to pursue a Certificate?
That's fine. All of our programs may be taken individually, and you
can mix and match the courses in industrial relations and organization development depending on your learning needs. At the conclusion of each program, you are given a certificate of completion.
