The Queen's Certificate in Organization Development is a unique series of programs that has been designed with Canada's OD practitioner in mind. This certificate is a comprehensive set of programs that features a foundational course plus two additional programs that delve deeper into the key competency areas of leading change and building high performance teams. The certificate speaks volumes to your ability to adopt a whole-systems view of organizations and to your commitment as a continuous learner. If you are a senior manager responsible for professional development, the Queen's Certificate is assurance that your staff has the latest core process skills to address the challenges of modern organizations.

Our OD/OE Certificate Programs
There is a significant evolution in the field of human resource management: increasingly, people management practitioners must understand the concepts and learn the skills involved in designing organizations to leverage inherent strengths, not stifle them. The OD practitioner's work is guided by a set of powerful questions designed to discover the needs of their organization. The toolkit includes a theory map or diagnostic lens that guides the practitioner's questions, an action research consulting process, and a battery of effective techniques to create suitable interventions.

We have designed all of our organization development and effectiveness programs with such needs in mind. Incorporating what we learned from focus groups, academic theories, and our own practice, we created the Queen's IRC Blueprint for Diagnosing Organization Effectiveness, which is designed to help practitioners to collect data, begin diagnosing what is going on in the organization, and identify where they may intervene. Our basic OD certificate offers the grounding in OD and the skill set to lead change initiatives and build high-performing teams. The "Masters" certificate in organization effectiveness allows practitioners to go deeper into each of the "rooms" of the IRC Blueprint.

  • Change Management*: champion change and help your organization adapt to new challenges
  • Building Smart Teams*: develop facilitation skills to encourage collective work
  • *If you have previously completed the Change Management and Building Smart Teams programs, you may use them as credits toward earning this certificate.
